World Mission Agency – Mission to Canada (Winners Chapel International Canada) is seeking a highly qualified, integrity-driven, and strategic National Internal Auditor to strengthen financial stewardship, governance, regulatory compliance, and operational accountability across our national church structure.

About this role

This is a key national leadership support role responsible for providing independent assurance, strengthening internal controls, ensuring CRA compliance, and supporting sound financial governance across all five districts.

This role is ideal for an experienced audit professional who is passionate about excellence, accountability, and advancing Kingdom-focused organizational growth.

Key responsibilities

What this role will own across Mission to Canada operations.

Financial Audit & Assurance

  • Plan and execute internal audits across Mission to Canada operations.
  • Review financial systems, controls, accounting records, and reporting accuracy.
  • Audit tithes, offerings, restricted funds, and designated ministry expenditures.
  • Coordinate annual audit preparation and support external auditors.
  • Verify compliance with CRA charitable reporting requirements.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Provide guidance on charitable tax compliance.
  • Monitor GST/HST obligations and payroll remittance compliance.
  • Liaise with CRA where required.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting registered charities.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

  • Develop and maintain a national financial risk register.
  • Strengthen internal control frameworks.
  • Investigate financial irregularities where necessary.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare quarterly audit reports for leadership and governance committees.
  • Present findings and recommendations to National Leadership.
  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations.

Operational Audits

  • Conduct audits of ministry operations and administrative systems.
  • Assess compliance with established financial policies and procedures.

Required qualifications

What you'll bring to the role.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field (required).
  • Master's degree (preferred).

Professional Designations

  • CPA (required).
  • CIA (strongly preferred).

Additional Certifications (Asset)

  • CFE.
  • CISA.
  • Canadian charitable tax expertise.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years progressive audit/accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in audit functions.
  • Experience in non-profit, charitable, or faith-based organizations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CRA charity compliance requirements.
